JA4REAL
Joy aka Ja4real was born in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Joy Adesuyi is a 25-year-old songwriter, rapper and poet who is energetic and friendly to everyone she meets. She's right-brained dominant, so creativity flows through her veins.
She went to Musictech College and received her Artist Diploma in Songwriting. With not only songwriting but also the business side of music, she is ready to take on the world. Joy has written ever since and her work has only continued to improve. She’s a powerful lyricist and rapper as well!
She has several notable songs under her belt. One is an anthem that she dedicated to her graduating class in high school, “ 2001.” She amazed and delighted the crowd to such an extent that she had to pause, before completing her speech. This song was so well received that she was chosen to perform it three times in the same year.
Here’s what one reporter said about her and her performance at her school, on the following website, www.intunemag.com:
-At intermission our ears fell upon a rapping angel. JA4Real, also known as Joy Adesuyi, is a songwriting major. We all know her as the woman with the coordinating outfits who is always saying “hi” in the hallway. The microphone knows her as the truth teller. Her lyrics are in your face and direct. When she says, “you ain’t all that, you’re just a wanna be,” she’s not beating around the bush. JA addresses the issue of saggy pants, letting guys know “it ain’t cool.” She describes in detail, how freeing it is to be 4Real.
“Say what, when you pass by,” is about communicating. Her lyrics are spoken right to people in the audience. JA4Real has incredible stage presence, never missing a face. She looks you in the face to drive home the points she makes about life’s realities.
All in all the day was good. Watching the “Joyous” music on the campus lawn with friends, faculty, and students alike.
Joy was the former Administrative Assistant to Urban Grooves Productions. There she learned the ins and outs of the industry, and sharpened her administrative skills. She was very instrumental in maintaining Urban Grooves website, and setting up meetings with clientle.
Currently, Joy is performing at different Open Mics around the Twin Cities.
When you come out and see her, you’ll know why there is and will never be another like JA4REAL.
Honest
Welcome to the world of Honest
Honest, or Neasha Tanner is a 28 year old young mother of three beautiful girls. Her birthplace is Michigan City, a small town in Indiana. Being from a small town, there wasn’t much to do. So, at the tender age of eight she started writing. “I always wrote what was on my mind. I spent a lot of time in my bedroom playing music and reading a book. Right before, going to bed, I would relax my mind by writing.” She also notes, “Writing made me feel better whenever I was down. A lot of my writing comes from my personal experiences. Some of it comes from others as well.
This young angel just recently began to spread her performance wings. She has participated in some open-mic nights in the greater twin cities. They include the: Artist Quarter and the Blue Nile. Honest notes,” I have preformed in front of both family and friends. In fact as I wrote a poem for one of my friends’ grandmother who passed away. My friend’s mother sent me an e-mail expressing how she felt about the poem I wrote for her daughter’s grandmother.”
-Not in a long time have I read such realness. She puts her heart into every word she writes, and even more emotions as she recites. I find every piece she has written has touched my life. Some are things I have gone through and may still be going through. Others may be situations you have seen friends or family go through, either way you can relate. The rawness of her work can never be duplicated all of it is from the heart. She is one to keep your eye.
She is ready to touch the world with her words. So fasten your seat belts as you enter into the mind of a true writer and a bold spoken word Artist, Honest.
